Refugee & Immigrant Mental Health

Mental health challenges are more common among refugees and migrants than the general population, with an estimated prevalence of disorders ranging form 20% to 80%. Some specific mental health conditions that individuals may experience include depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The refugee and immigrant populations face common challenges to accessing mental health services, such as language and cultural barriers, unfamiliarity with host country health system, lower health literacy in the host country's language, etc.
